The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.03 per cent down at 18809.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.44 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 3.26 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 2.19 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(up 1.31 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.12 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 1.77 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.03 per cent down at 18809.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 92.05 points at 22004.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 361.64 points at 72470.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Zomato and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Onelife Capital, Time Technoplast, The Hi-Tech Gears, Apar Industries and Torrent Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Compuage Infocom, SCI Land and Assets, Mangalam Organics and Exxaro Tiles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
