Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 2.62% in an upbeat market

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 2.62 per cent at 19090.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 85.96 points at 21970.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 270.44 points at 72349.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BEL, YES Bank, NHPC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Heritage Foods, Emami, Bikaji Foods Inter, Dabur India and Britannia hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bodhi Tree Multimedia, Vaxtex Cotfab, Sintex Plastics Tech, Morarjee Text and Osia Hyper Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
