Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.29%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.29 per cent up at 20453.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 5.0 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 3.9 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.3 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 2.47 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.42 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.29 per cent up at 20453.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.7 points at 24323.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 53.07 points at 79996.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Landmark Prop, Rail Vikas Nigam, Shilpa Medicare, Marksans Pharma and Ahluwalia Contracts hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Remsons Ind, IRIS Clothings, Future Supply Chain, Baid Leasing and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
