Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.68% in an upbeat market

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 3.34 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.68 per cent at 18589.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 83.85 points at 22451.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 301.05 points at 74039.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Indian Railway Fin and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Geojit Financial, Yuken India, Aegis Logistics and Data Patterns(India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, NBI Industrial, GIR Natureview, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Regency Ceramic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
