Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.62%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.62 per cent up at 18994.65.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 5.06 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.49 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.06 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 2.6 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.53 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.62 per cent up at 18994.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 150.4 points at 22419.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 609.28 points at 73730.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, GMR Infra, HUDCO and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Pneumatic, Kirloskar Ind, HUDCO, Dolat Invst and Asahi Songwon hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Sheela Foam, Future Supply Chain, Popular Vehicles and Vodafone Idea hit their fresh 52-week lows.
