Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.6% in an upbeat market

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.6 per cent at 18974.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 31.91 points at 22249.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 17.29 points at 73121.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Canara Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Associated Alch, Kirloskar Pneumatic, Thermax, Centrum Capital and Siemens hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, GSS Infotech, Butterfly Gandhi, Eurotex Ind and IndInfravit Trust hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
