Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.55% in an upbeat market

Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.23 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.55 per cent at 19099.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 106.4 points at 22526.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 528.67 points at 74258.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, IDFC First Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lloyds Steels, Techno Electric, Yuken India, Dolat Invst and ITD Cementation hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Popular Vehicles and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
