Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.4% in an upbeat market

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.4 per cent at 19174.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 124.0 points at 22767.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 387.05 points at 75058.33.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBFC Finance, HFCL and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Jana Small Finance B, Pudumjee Paper Prod, Ganges Securities, Usha Martin and DB(Intl)Stock hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Osia Hyper Retail, Sheela Foam, Popular Vehicles and Atal Realtech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
