Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.31% in a weak market

Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.31 per cent at 18937.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 51.8 points at 22518.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 180.03 points at 74159.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, SAIL and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kirloskar Ind, Premier Exp, Firstsource, Dolat Invst and Viji Finance hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Visagar Polytex, Atal Realtech, GI Engineering, Power & Instrument and Radaan Media hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
