Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.27% in an upbeat market

Pfizer Ltd.(down 1.74 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.27 per cent at 18860.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 161.1 points at 22165.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 533.14 points at 73003.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lakshmi Machine, Nuvama Wealth Manage, Onelife Capital, ABB India and Bharat Bijlee hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while TIL Ltd, Popular Vehicles, Lexus Granito(India), BGR Energy and Sintex Plastics Tech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
