Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.21% in an upbeat market

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.21 per cent at 19816.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 52.25 points at 23311.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 142.79 points at 76632.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of IRB Infra Dev., Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Panache Digilife, Essar Shipping, Hind Const Co, Indian Metals and Max Estates hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanginita Chemicals, Neueon Towers, Kronox Lab Sciences, Supreme Infra and Borosil Scientific hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
