Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 1.83%
The Nifty IT index closed 1.83 per cent down at 34526.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Monday.Shares of ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge Ltd.(down 3.89 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 3.13 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 2.73 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.71 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 2.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.83 per cent down at 34526.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 30.96 points at 23259.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 203.28 points at 76490.08.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IRB Infra Dev., Tata Steel and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Zenith Exports, Likhitha Infra, Gufic BioSci, Emkay Global and Premier Exp hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Neueon Towers, Bohra Industries, Borosil Scientific, Compuage Infocom and Kaya hit their fresh 52-week lows.
