Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 1.0%
The Nifty IT index closed 1.0 per cent down at 33542.7.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.18 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.0 per cent down at 33542.7.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 183.46 points at 22704.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 667.55 points at 74502.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, RattanIndia Power and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Arrow Greentech, Titagarh Wagons, Mazagon Dock Ship, Century Enka and Sumitomo Chemical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Monte Carlo Fashion, Revathi Equipment, Osia Hyper Retail, Priti International and Kaya hit their fresh 52-week lows.
