Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.82%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.82 per cent down at 32935.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Coforge Ltd.(up 3.81 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.82 per cent down at 32935.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 97.71 points at 22055.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 260.3 points at 72664.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Zomato and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Commercial Engg, Hindustan Zinc, Vijaya Diagnostic, Smartlink Holdings and Honeywell hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sustainable Energy Infra Trust, Future Supply Chain, JNK India, Lancor Holdings and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
