Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.64%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.64 per cent down at 34744.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(up 0.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Wipro Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.64 per cent down at 34744.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 118.96 points at 22123.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 526.01 points at 72996.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Suzlon Energy and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nuvama Wealth Manage, Arvind SmartSpaces, Onelife Capital, Jyoti CNC Automation and Rico Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NACL Industries, Shreeoswal Seeds, Lexus Granito(India), Commercial Syn Bags and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
