Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.52% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.52 per cent down at 37472.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MphasiS Ltd.(down 3.08 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.52 per cent at 37472.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 93.21 points at 24340.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 335.01 points at 80016.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Rail Vikas Nigam, YES Bank, IRFC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of NDR Auto Components, RPP Infra Proj, IZMO, Rolex Rings and Ion Exchange hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vraj Iron & Steel, SecUR Credentials, MEP Infrastructure, Praxis Home Retail and Zenith Exports hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
