Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.26% in an upbeat market

HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 5.58 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.32 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.26 per cent at 33579.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119.96 points at 22539.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 564.72 points at 74294.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, IDFC First Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Techno Electric, Lloyds Steels, Yuken India, Dolat Invst and ITD Cementation hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Popular Vehicles and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
