Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.2% in a weak market

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.2 per cent at 33973.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 18.41 points at 22949.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 46.29 points at 75371.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC and Rail Vikas Nigam were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of JohnsonCtrls Hitachi, Finolex Cables, Bharat Dynamics, Welspun Ent and G M Breweries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equipment, Mask Investments, Melstar Info, Gujarat Lease and Peria Karamalai Tea hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
