Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.18%

On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.17 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.18 per cent down at 35748.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.65 points at 21839.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.64 points at 72101.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of D P Abhushan, Cubex Tubings, CG Power & Ind., Popular Vehicles and Maruti Suzuki hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, IIFL Finance, Vaxtex Cotfab, Bohra Industries and SCI Land and Assets hit their fresh 52-week lows.
