Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.01%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.01 per cent down at 37720.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 1.3 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.01 per cent down at 37720.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.7 points at 24323.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 53.07 points at 79996.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Landmark Prop, Rail Vikas Nigam, Shilpa Medicare, Marksans Pharma and Ahluwalia Contracts hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Remsons Ind, IRIS Clothings, Future Supply Chain, Baid Leasing and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
