Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.5% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.5 per cent up at 39216.2.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.MphasiS Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.77 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.5 per cent at 39216.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 85.8 points at 24587.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 216.3 points at 80735.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, IRFC, YES Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kellton Tech, Godfrey Philips, IFCI, MTNL and Geojit Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, CMI Ltd, JP Associates, Brightcom Group and SecUR Credentials hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
