Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.04%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.04 per cent up at 35079.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.23 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.04 per cent up at 35079.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 23.55 points at 22642.75, while the BSE Sensex stood down 58.8 points at 74683.7.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Tata Steel and Hind Copper were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Puravankara, Premier Exp, Eldeco Housing, Hindustan Zinc and TPL Plastech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SRM Contractors, Madhya Bharat Agro, Gopal Snacks, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
