Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 1.2% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.2 per cent down at 52466.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.41 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.62 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.41 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.
HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 4.3 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 1.2 per cent at 52466.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.21 points at 24240.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 341.65 points at 79708.02.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam, Suzlon Energy and NBCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Landmark Prop, BEML, Ahluwalia Contracts, Shilpa Medicare and Antony Waste Handling hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Praxis Home Retail, Filatex Fashions, Remsons Ind and Future Supply Chain hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
