Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.83%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.83 per cent down at 52660.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.89 per cent), State Bank of India(up 2.44 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.36 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.05 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 4.58 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.83 per cent down at 52660.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.7 points at 24323.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 53.07 points at 79996.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Landmark Prop, Rail Vikas Nigam, Shilpa Medicare, Marksans Pharma and Ahluwalia Contracts hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Remsons Ind, IRIS Clothings, Future Supply Chain, Baid Leasing and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
