Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.61%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.61 per cent down at 48201.05.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.41 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 3.33 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 2.07 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.41 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.61 per cent down at 48201.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 150.4 points at 22419.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 609.28 points at 73730.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, GMR Infra, HUDCO and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Pneumatic, Kirloskar Ind, HUDCO, Dolat Invst and Asahi Songwon hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Sheela Foam, Future Supply Chain, Popular Vehicles and Vodafone Idea hit their fresh 52-week lows.
