Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.56%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.56 per cent down at 46600.2.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 0.98 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.68 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.9 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.56 per cent down at 46600.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 92.05 points at 22004.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 361.64 points at 72470.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Zomato and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Onelife Capital, Time Technoplast, The Hi-Tech Gears, Apar Industries and Torrent Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Compuage Infocom, SCI Land and Assets, Mangalam Organics and Exxaro Tiles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
