Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.52% in a weak market

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.52 per cent at 48730.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 101.5 points at 22652.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 415.36 points at 74622.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power, Reliance Infra and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ashiana Housing, D P Abhushan, Ramco Systems, Krystal Integrated and Quess Corp hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Visagar Polytex, Stampede Cap, Antarctica Ltd and Mittal Life Style hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
