Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.51% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.51 per cent down at 46147.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.58 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.51 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.27 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.
HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.86 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.51 per cent at 46147.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 35.36 points at 21782.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 113.39 points at 71898.66.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Cubex Tubings, D P Abhushan, Nagreeka Export, Maruti Suzuki and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while IIFL Finance, Vaxtex Cotfab, N K Industries, Bohra Industries and SCI Land and Assets hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
