Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.41% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.41 per cent down at 51975.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.47 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.45 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.38 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.
HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.41 per cent at 51975.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 67.71 points at 24256.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 233.86 points at 79690.91.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, IRFC and Rail Vikas Nigam were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mallcom(India), JHS Svendgaard Retai, SCI, HPL Electric Power and SCI Land and Assets hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, SecUR Credentials, Praxis Home Retail, Sarthak Metals and Shyam Telecom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
