Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.38% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.38 per cent down at 48018.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.State Bank of India(up 1.03 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.84 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.48 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.38 per cent at 48018.6 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 33.75 points at 22468.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 209.77 points at 73796.17.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, BEL, Indian Railway Fin and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharat Bijlee, Rolex Rings, GRP Ltd, Poddar Pigments and Sudarshan Chemical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Megastar Foods, Premier Ltd, Morarjee Text and Golden Tobacco hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
