Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.16%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.16 per cent down at 46310.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of State Bank of India(up 1.73 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.31 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.16 per cent down at 46310.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.65 points at 21839.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.64 points at 72101.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of D P Abhushan, Cubex Tubings, CG Power & Ind., Popular Vehicles and Maruti Suzuki hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, IIFL Finance, Vaxtex Cotfab, Bohra Industries and SCI Land and Assets hit their fresh 52-week lows.
