Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.14%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.14 per cent down at 47421.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.44 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.14 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 2.97 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.93 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.14 per cent down at 47421.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 97.71 points at 22055.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 260.3 points at 72664.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Zomato and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Commercial Engg, Hindustan Zinc, Vijaya Diagnostic, Smartlink Holdings and Honeywell hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sustainable Energy Infra Trust, Future Supply Chain, JNK India, Lancor Holdings and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
