Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.02% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.02 per cent down at 48177.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:05AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.Axis Bank Ltd.(up 4.87 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.51 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.42 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 1.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 9.96 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.02 per cent at 48177.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 24.96 points at 22377.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 46.6 points at 73806.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Kotak Bank, Indian Railway Fin and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, GPT Infraproj, Commercial Engg, IZMO and Shradha Infraproject hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kotak Bank, Atal Realtech, Melstar Info, Regency Ceramic and Keerti Knowledge hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
