Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.1% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.1 per cent up at 49595.0.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.Bank of Baroda(up 5.25 per cent), State Bank of India(up 4.72 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 3.12 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.53 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 1.1 per cent at 49595.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 276.11 points at 22896.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 878.47 points at 75260.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, BHEL and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Minda Ind., Bhagiradha Chem, KCP Ltd, Nava Bharat Vent. and KNR Constructions hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sintex Plastics Tech, SecUR Credentials, Morarjee Text, Lakshmi Precis and Compuage Infocom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
