Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.63%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.63 per cent up at 48494.95.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Axis Bank Ltd.(up 6.0 per cent), State Bank of India(up 5.13 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 3.69 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.19 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 10.88 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.64 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.63 per cent up at 48494.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 167.95 points at 22570.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 486.5 points at 74339.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Kotak Bank, South Indian Bnk and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Kirloskar Pneumatic, ABB Power, GPT Infraproj and MOIL hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kotak Bank, Dalmia Bharat, Atal Realtech, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
