Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.5% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.5 per cent up at 48210.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:44AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.88 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.58 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bank of Baroda(down 0.47 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.5 per cent at 48210.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 103.21 points at 22471.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 363.61 points at 74102.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Indian Railway Fin and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Aegis Logistics, Geojit Financial, Data Patterns(India and Kaveri Seed Co. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Impex Ferro Tech, NBI Industrial, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
