Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.46%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.46 per cent up at 48189.0.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 0.41 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.46 per cent up at 48189.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 34.41 points at 22402.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 114.49 points at 73852.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Steel City Securitie, Chennai Petro, Yuken India and Aegis Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, GIR Natureview, BDR Buildcon, IndInfravit Trust and Ahimsa Industries L hit their fresh 52-week lows.
