Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.34% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.34 per cent up at 48895.2.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:55AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.29 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.19 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.98 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.8 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.34 per cent at 48895.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 54.91 points at 22697.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 217.43 points at 74901.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, NMDC Steel and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Emkay Global, DC Infotech, GKW Ltd, Arvee Laboratories and Vedanta hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Melstar Info, Gopal Snacks, Keerti Knowledge, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
