Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.29%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.29 per cent up at 48115.65.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.47 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.73 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 0.58 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.04 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.29 per cent up at 48115.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 62.25 points at 22466.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 253.31 points at 73917.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, BEL and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of MOIL, ISMT Ltd, Indian Hume Pipe, Crompton Greaves and Mazagon Dock Ship hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, SecUR Credentials, Filatex Fash, IRB InvIT Fund and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
