Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.22% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.22 per cent up at 49890.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:54AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.01 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.26 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.87 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.22 per cent at 49890.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.5 points at 23319.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 207.49 points at 76697.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
Shares of IRB Infra Dev., Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Panache Digilife, Essar Shipping, Indian Metals, Hind Const Co and Zenith Exports hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanginita Chemicals, Neueon Towers, Kronox Lab Sciences, Supreme Infra and Borosil Scientific hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
