Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.17% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.17 per cent up at 48005.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:54AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.State Bank of India(up 0.98 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.64 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.57 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.51 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.
ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.17 per cent at 48005.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.25 points at 22396.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 209.96 points at 73858.58.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Easy Trip Planners, Tata Tele and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tejas Networks, Smartlink Holdings, Celebrity Fash, Manaksia Coated and Hindustan Motor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Tembo Global Indust, MEP Infrastructure, Melstar Info and Keerti Knowledge hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
