Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.08% in a weak market

ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.08 per cent at 47616.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 32.3 points at 22429.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 136.24 points at 73878.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Aditya Birla Retail, BEL and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Meghmani Finechem, Nila Spaces L, HG Infra Engg, Lokesh Machines and Wonder Fibromats hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lakshmi Precis, Mask Investments, GIR Natureview, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Winsome Yarns hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
