Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.02%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.02 per cent up at 52278.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.59 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.47 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.36 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 2.38 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 2.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.4 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.02 per cent up at 52278.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 186.21 points at 24502.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 622.0 points at 80519.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRFC, Indian Renewable, YES Bank and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of AMJ Land Holdings, Railtel Corp, HPL Electric Power, IFCI and Cantabil Retail hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, SecUR Credentials, Praxis Home Retail, Sarthak Metals and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
