Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.37% in an upbeat market

Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.37 per cent at 22029.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 116.9 points at 22536.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 559.75 points at 74289.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, IDFC First Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lloyds Steels, Yuken India, Aegis Logistics, Techno Electric and GPT Infraproj hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Popular Vehicles and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
