Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.31%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.31 per cent down at 21999.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 3.28 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 2.33 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 2.15 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.31 per cent down at 21999.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 23.55 points at 22642.75, while the BSE Sensex stood down 58.8 points at 74683.7.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Tata Steel and Hind Copper were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Puravankara, Premier Exp, Eldeco Housing, Hindustan Zinc and TPL Plastech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SRM Contractors, Madhya Bharat Agro, Gopal Snacks, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
