Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.2% in an upbeat market

Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.2 per cent at 22023.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 80.0 points at 22746.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 311.59 points at 75054.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Exide Inds., Hind Copper and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Premier Exp, Puravankara, Mindteck India, TPL Plastech and Arvee Laboratories hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SRM Contractors, Gopal Snacks, Keerti Knowledge, ABM International L and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
