Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.15% in an upbeat market

Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.15 per cent at 23318.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.3 points at 22553.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 120.97 points at 74074.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tainwala Chem, GeeCee Ventures, Ausom Enterprise, HB Stockholding and HG Infra Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Malu Paper Mill, Revathi Equip, Brightcom Group, Karda Const and Crown Lifters hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
