Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.13%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.13 per cent down at 23324.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 2.0 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.3 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.47 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.5 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.13 per cent down at 23324.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 68.75 points at 22597.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 267.75 points at 74221.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, IRB Infra Dev. and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tainwala Chem, GeeCee Ventures, Ausom Enterprise, GE Power India and PNC Infratech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Brightcom Group, Karda Const, Valiant Laboratories and Indegene hit their fresh 52-week lows.
