Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.07%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.07 per cent down at 22526.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.46 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 3.95 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 2.56 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.81 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.07 per cent down at 22526.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 33.15 points at 22442.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 17.39 points at 73895.54.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and REC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GRP Ltd, Ganges Securities, Dolat Invst, Sarla Perform and Wealth First Port hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, SITI Networks, Signpost India, Future Supply Chain and Zee Ent. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
