Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.05% in a weak market

Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.05 per cent at 21670.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 113.1 points at 22159.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 439.36 points at 72960.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ONGC, Jio Financial Servic and Exide Inds. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ujaas Energy, Par Drugs & Chemical, Selan Expl Tech, Indo Tech Trans and The Hi-Tech Gears hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Keerti Knowledge, Times Guaranty, SE Power and TV Vision hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
